The exhibition stand of Finnish Academy of Fine Arts was awarded with a prize of 5000 euros in PhotoKina held in Cologne, Germany. I participated along with nine other students. Read more from the Kuva-website.

Blast Theory Recidency

From 20th of September until 12th of November, I will be in Blast Theory recidency in Brighton, United Kingdom. Blast Theory is renowned internationally as one of the most adventurous artists' groups using interactive media, creating art that mixes audiences across the internet, live performance and digital broadcasting.

Teemu Kivikangas is a visual artist and a film-maker working mainly with photography, text, installations, video performance and documentary film.

His works have been featured in a number of festivals and exhibitions in Finland and abroad (for an example USA, Canada, China, Argentina, Russia and a number of European countries).

He has studied visual arts and film in the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki and Slade School of Fine Arts in London.

Teemu Kivikangas is a game designer, an art director, an illustrator and a film-maker working with cutting-edge digital media design.

His past clients include well-known brands like Nokia, Apple, Pepsi and Pernod-Ricard, fashion houses, media companies (e.g. SanomaWSOY), advertising agencies and a number of the most innovative Finnish game industry players (e.g. Digital Chocolate, Mr.Goodliving and Virtual Air Guitar Company).

He holds an MA (New Media) from Media Lab of University of Art and Design Helsinki (2007).
